TX to BRC, have room for 1

Description

I’m the lead for Camp Just Ahead, so I need to arrive one day early (Saturday).

This is my 5th burn, and my 4th doing the drive, but it’s 2,000 miles each way for me, too long to do it alone. Sharing the ride for past burns has always been a great time!

I have room for another person, can pick you up anywhere along that first day’s journey (Beaumont, Dallas, Amarillo).

I leave Beaumont, TX on Wednesday Aug. 26. Tentatively picking up one burner in Dallas (she’s checking flights), then another in Las Vegas.

Since we arrive early, you’ll need SAP, not just your ticket. If you’re looking for a camp as well, we may be able to squeeze you in and allocate one of our SAP to you, if we’re a good camp match and vice versa!

Overnights are in safe RV parks. Plenty of beds.

Return drive starts right after Temple Burn, overnight to decompress in Las Vegas. Then onward to Albuquerque on Tuesday, then Dallas, then back to Beaumont on the 10th!

I do have a few truck rules:

– Vaping only through cracked window
– No drugs
– No MAGA
– No country music

You can contribute to gas if you want, and you can also take turns at the wheel if you wish (extended cab pickup truck towing a camper), but neither are required.

I have room in the truck for a bike and some bins/tent.

We stop at Gerlach on the way in to fill water containers. This supports the local community and reduces load as we cross the mountains on the way.

If you live in Houston/Austin/etc. and want to meet up in Beaumont, we run an AirBnB from our home (separate unit), so we can host you on Tuesday night so you’re ready on Wednesday, and we can provide a safe place to park your car while we’re at the burn.

If you live outside of Texas, I can still pick you up in Dallas at/near the airport, as long as your flight arrives before 3:30pm on Wed. the 26th.
