After a 2-year hiatus, Camp Just Ahead is coming back to the playa for 2026 and we’re starting to build our crew!

Right now, I’m especially hoping to find 2-3 more core campmates from Southeast Texas or Southwest Louisiana. That includes Houston, Beaumont, Lake Charles, and nearby areas.

We’re a small theme camp (maybe 12-18 people), with a playful, human-centered vibe. Connection, laughter, fun challenges, and lots of engagement with passersby. Guests spin our Wheel of Immediacy to choose an activity. We may join in as well! Sometimes silly, and always consent-forward.

Having a few local folks makes it much easier to ride-share to and from BRC. I have a room for people and their things, and I’d love not to haul the camp infrastructure solo.

Our camp tends to attract a great mix of US and international burners. We’re intentionally small, affordable, and low infrastructure, with easy build and strike. Just the basics, done thoughtfully. More importantly, we value being warm, friendly, inclusive humans who are comfortable engaging openly with strangers and a wide range of identities and self-expression.
