Dear Campers in Search of Camps (and Musicians in Search of a Groove),

We’re building a music camp called Mostly In Tune — the name reflects the attitude, not the level of musicianship.

We’re a small crew of experienced players in our 50s and 60s (trumpet, sax, and a singer-songwriter on guitar) putting together a laid-back, plug-and-play jam space. The plan is three scheduled sessions during the week, plus whatever spontaneous grooves happen in between.

We’re looking to round out the core group with an experienced drummer, keyboard player, and bass. These are anchor roles for people who can hold it down and play well with others. Bonus points if you’re in the Bay Area and open to a few casual rehearsals over the summer, but not required.

Not everyone who plays with us needs to camp with us — we expect plenty of drop-ins. That said, we do want a solid core crew to keep things grounded.

If you’re a strong player with zero ego and a sense of humor about the occasional “what key are we in?” moment, reach out and let’s see if it’s a fit.
