Do you need a place to land on the Playa? Joyism has extra tickets and vehicle passes to grow the Joy with new members this year!
Somewhere on the Playa each morning, a line begins forming before the sun fully rises.
Word spreads across Black Rock City:
“Joyism coffee is brewing.”
For more than 21 years, Joyism has been one of the most loved coffee camps on Playa, serving nearly 1,000 cups of ridiculously good coffee every morning. Our beans come from an organic farm in Colombia, roasted fresh in the Bay Area just before the burn. From mellow morning fuel to toe-tapping, mind-expanding levels of caffeine, we’ve got the brew your dusty soul needs. And if caffeine isn’t your jam, we serve mate tea for the enlightened and the over-caffeinated alike.
But Joyism is much more than a coffee line.
Our camp is home to one of the oldest and most recognizable art cars on Playa, freshly upgraded and roaming the desert daily. The Joyism Art Car launches art tours across the playa, often sparking spontaneous bike parades through the installations. It has also proudly hosted the margarita celebration for the legendary Critical Tits ride.
Back at camp, things get wonderfully weird.
We host interactive art, unexpected experiences, and plenty of ways for wandering burners to stumble into something memorable:
• Axis Mundi Installation – Become the missing trunk of the cosmic tree of life and channel energy between heaven and earth through light, vibration, sound, and mysterious playa physics.
• Gourmet Deviled Egg Bar – A breakfast tradition where burners craft wild deviled egg creations with flavors ranging from bacon to balsamic to salmon.
• Massage Hammock (Mate Massage) – Relax in a hammock while our battery-powered orbital buffers erase the previous night’s questionable decisions.
• Bad Health Advice – Confidently delivered medical nonsense with maximum swagger and absolutely no responsibility.
• Build Your Own Playa Cup – Turn recycled steel cans into useful playa gear. Radical self-reliance meets arts & crafts.
• Joyism Cares – Sunscreen, condoms, hydration, pain relievers, and friendly playa wisdom for weary travelers.
And when the dust settles at night, our intersection campfire becomes a gathering place for lost wanderers, poets, musicians, storytellers, and night owls looking for connection under the stars.
Joyism thrives because of the people who build it.
We’re looking for new campers who want to help create the magic — serving coffee at sunrise, helping run art installations, hosting visitors, riding the art car across the Playa, and generally contributing to the strange and wonderful ecosystem that makes Burning Man what it is.
