We have space available in our Ouroboros Camp which is home-base for the S.S. Serpent Queen. Our camp maxes out out around 35-40 people with an aim for 50/50 f/m ratio, 20s,30s,40s. We keep it medium small so as to manage the needs of the SQ, which is our offering to the Playa as a public conveyance and mobile work of artistic antiquity. Our music aims to be in support of live performance and DJ’ing as secondary.

What we can offer to the right candidate/s:
We have some tickets available at face value to the candidates that have the ideal skillsets and can devote some time.
Work Access Pass- We have some passes that allow some early crew to come days before the gates open and assist our build out.
Meals: Organic high quality meals suited to dietary needs for up to 10 days.
H20: Local high mountain filtered well water. All you need for up to 10 days.
A brief shower a day in our plumbed bathhouse.
Power: Our solar array powers lights and refrigeration in our commercial kitchen.
2500sf. of communal space in a 3 top high wind rated event tents, with multiple zones and lounge spaces, as well as shade for your personal tent, and/or anchor point for your RV.
Tools: We have a full tented workshop anchored to a box truck complemented with most tools imaginable for finishing needs and build out of the SQ in the days leading up to the event opening.
Costumes: Racks of them, and mirrors.
Serpent Queen: All access as part of the crew. Observation deck views at 22 feet above the playa floor. An incredible vantage point to watch the Burn. The SQ accommodates up to 60 comfortably.

Expectations:

Camp Dues to be paid in advance to reserve a spot.
Our camp is well appointed and very comfortable but not a turnkey nor glamp-style enterprise. Our long time membership of main core crew has done all of the construction and mechanical work on the SQ and our camp.
We have no Sherpas.
Each member does one day in the kitchen for two meals in a pod with 6-7 others, with a pod leader that is in charge of that prearranged meal.
Everyone in the camp assists in the creative: Fashioning, and decor and crewing up of the SQ, which is one of the longest running large scale Mutant Vehicles on the Playa. We have been sailing the BRC since 2011. The Serpent Queen is continually being refined.
We are a camp of doers… If you are the type of creative who loves to work as hard as you party then please apply. Time devoted that is based on what skills you can bring and when they can be applied can be made in a variety of ways:

Participation before the event during our SQ build trip in late June 15th-30th at a local Ranch just north of the Playa is our next big endeavor. Participating during arrival with lead-up, during event, after during strike of camp and wrap up of the SQ. Our preference is for experienced Burners, but this is not a rule, if the candidate has skills and real drive they are most welcome!

Some specific technical skillsets we are looking for in particular:

Professional Carpentry- Finish level skilled persons strongly desired. If the right candidate is out there, special attention to their application will be made

Mechanic- The SQ is powered by a 262 cummins turbo diesel engine on a large bus chassis. Old but solid tech. We also have a small fleet of support vehicles and basic generators that need to be managed. We have a solid mechanic, but we are looking for additional support in this dept. Diesel mechanic/ heavy equipment skills a plus

Lighting Designer / Software Programmer and custom LED programmer and installer- Stage lighting board, DMX, dimmer packs with advanced LED programming skills desired. And the ability to tie this all in to an on the fly system.

Painter- – Fileteado, filigree, rosemailing, sign painting ability? Got Steady Hands? Your Ship is in. Fast solid painters highly desired.

Generalist- Coming with basic technical skills is ok, but must be very strong, have hustle and attentiveness, and time both for our near Playa Work Trip in June, as well as time before the main event, the Burn week, and a few days to wrap the SQ after the burn.

Chef/Cooks- We continue to refine a system in our kitchen which blends good nutrition and taste, along with ease and efficiency while on playa. We are also looking for the right candidate for our SQ work trip near Playa in early July and also with premaking meals/deep freezing before we roll out to Playa during the Burn.
