Any other cacao ceremonialists out there? I host cacao ceremonies and I’m exploring offering something on the playa this year. I hear there have been some fabulous and large ceremonies (at least one was 100+ people) the past couple years.
I’m returning to BRC after a few years’ hiatus and had never seen cacao there in the past but excited its momentum is growing! I can support someone else’s plan or I can take leadership on something if others prefer to offer a support role. For example, even if you are not experienced with cacao ceremony we will need people to help prepare, welcome, pour, run sound, etc. We will also need items like giant pots, ladles, immersion blenders, water heaters — maybe your camp has these to share? I have been offered a space with sound system, not sure if that will pan out, but at this point all resources are welcome! We will also need CACAO of course! I have a great resource I’ve been purchasing from and a few people have already offered to chip in financially – feel free to offer support there too if you can. Maybe you own shares in a cacao farm and your beans are seeking playa magic?
For some context, I learned cacao ceremony in Peru from a Western shaman. I have been offering ceremonies for 2 years in my home town for groups of 40+ participants. I’ve found a niche meeting my community’s needs combining cacao ceremony and ecstatic dance. I’d LOVE to partner with an experienced ecstatic dance DJ or 5 Rhythms DJ for a combo cacao-dance event. One way or another, Burning Man 2019 needs cacao!
