Vitruvian Lounge is looking for a select group of new campers to help us operate our famous human sized gyroscope which is the centerpiece of our interactive lounge. We’ve been around for a few years, but you may know us by our previous name, Pongo Lounge. We’re a small camp (around 35 – 40 campers) with a great international community as well as awesome on-playa resources. Our famous attraction is our interactive centerpiece: a 15 ft tall Human Gyroscope (‘gyro’). The Human Gyroscope is run by Vitruvian Lounge campers and offers spinners a safe yet thrilling anti-gravity experience that literally turns their world upside down. We also offer daily craft cocktails from our bar, a few hours of music a day with DJs from around the world, and a super groovy and comfortable shaded lounge.
We are not just a camp, but a committed community of people who dedicate ourselves to our camp’s mission as well as Burning Man’s. We believe in practicing the principles of Burning Man within our camp. We promote Plato’s quote that you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation – that’s why our camp is centered on interactivity and participation. We strive to provide an inviting, energizing, and engaging atmosphere to all burners. We aim to help burners unlock and meet a part of themselves that maybe they’ve never met before. At The Vitruvian Lounge, we serve up good gyrations – and we invite every burner to enjoy them.
What we provide:
Two camp-only private porta-potties
Shaded and sheltered camping area, lounge, and communal kitchen
Power to tent area (for small things – no hair dryers, ACs, microwaves, or high-pull devices)
Camp freezer (for ice packs only)
Handwashing sink and camping showers
Public lounge area with shade structure, bar, open DJ decks and gyroscope
What our campers need to provide:
We like to ask new campers to participate in tear-down, which means staying until Monday to help our pack-up and LNT efforts. Though not required, it is encouraged. Throughout the week we expect our campers to be generally good people, treat the common areas of the camp respectfully, and work a few shifts to run our interactive offerings i.e., our gyro, bar, and lounge. That part is required 🙂
Camp dues are $400.
We do NOT accept RV’s.
We do NOT have tickets! You MUST have your own ticket.
We’re placed at the plaza at 9 & G.
