I am an artist from Buffalo, New York and I have been primarily creating resin art paintings for 4 years now. However, I have also had the privilege to work with a couple local music festivals on some interactive sculptural installations. I am extremely interested in gaining experience with teams that create festival art, architecture, and installations of the like.
ALSO, I am currently a Masters of Architecture Student a the University at Buffalo’s School of Architecture and Planning. Architecture, Art, and Music Festivals have been the three main parts of my life. For this reason, I am currently conducting directed research in my masters program on The Architecture of Music Festivals that I hope to turn into an excellent thesis project before graduating at the end of 2020. I am very interested in studying festival systems of all kinds and finding ways to graphically represent important information that has never been recorded yet in regard to music festival culture. My main area of interest is art installations, but there is much more information about music festival culture that I am passionate about learning and finding a way to represent visually.
Even though I have purchased so many books and read so much information about Burning Man I have yet to experience it. As we speak I am sitting at a desk scattered with Burning Man books and I am really hoping that this can be my first burn. Please let me know if anyone is looking for the help of an artist and architect who is almost finished with his masters degree. I have a wide variety of design skills that can be of use, but I am also equally interested in joining a project and soaking up all of the knowledge and experience that I can by working in a hands on construction setting.
If anyone has any advise on how I should go about trying to attend burning man this year with all of the above information considered please let me know. I have been researching what I would need to experience the festival for years, but just have not done it yet and now that I am actually writing a thesis on it I feel like this needs to be the year. I really want to contribute to the Burning Man Community and help to make the experience of others as great as possible.
